The experience and competence from a variety of electrical conversions makes eCap a sought-after contact for the development of electrified conversions and prototypes for industry. For example, Optimas GmbH, as one of the leading manufacturers of construction and paving machines, commissioned us with the electrical conversion of an H99 paving machine. With this conversion, Optimas is examining the sales opportunities for electrically operated paving machines on the market. Thanks to the successful conversion to electric drive, Optimas and eCap show that the emission-free, quiet and climate-friendly electrical operation of paving machines and comparable vehicles is practically and economically feasible.
Performance
The built-in electric motor has an output of 14/23 kW and allows the paving machine a top speed of 14 km/h, which is more than sufficient for the performance profile of this machine.
Range
In order to successfully use the paving machine in practice, eCap has implemented a concept of replaceable batteries. A 15 kWh battery charge enables the machine to operate continuously for approx. 2.5 hours.
Special features
The challenge for our team was to electrify the vehicle on a 48 V system with easy-to-replace lithium-ion batteries for continuous operation of the vehicle in daily work. As a result, the electric paving machine created a world first for this vehicle class and a prime example of e-prototype development by eCap.
